Tuesday is National Black Dog Day so some animal shelters are offering adoption fee discounts to anyone who adopts a black dog.
According to Santa Barbara County Animal Services black dog statically take longer to get adopted from shelters. Because of that, they are letting prospective dog owners take home any black dog with an adoption fee of your choice.
"We just want to raise awareness that black dogs in the shelter are no different than dogs of other colors and that it's really that personality you should focus on more than anything," Community Outreach Coordinator Stacy Silva said.
The deal is available through Oct. 5 at Santa Barbara County Animal Services three locations.
