Atascadero police responded reports of a man who was threatening to do a "mass shooting" at the Bordeaux House Apartments, located at 11300 Viejo Camino in Atascadero.
The police department was contacted by several people saying the man made the threats over social media on Tuesday.
During the investigation, officers learned the man no longer lives at the apartment complex and that he has a history of making these types of threats.
Officers contacted the man and determined he didn't have the means to carry out the threat.
Atascadero police say they take these types of matters seriously and appreciate those who come forward.
