The popular Cruisin' Weekend that typically brings in thousands of spectators from both inside and outside of the Central Coast to Atascadero is being postponed to 2021.

Atascadero city leaders say they have been working hard to keep as many summer events going as possible during the pandemic however, they could not come up with a completely safe alternative for the Cruisin' Weekend events.

The event was expected to take place on August 14 and 15, and is now postponed to August 20 and 21, 2021.

Typically, Cruisin' Weekend kicks off with the very popular Hot El Camino Cruise Nite on Friday night. Then, the Mid State Cruizers Car Show at Atascadero Lake Park follows up on Saturday and the weekend event concludes with Dancing in the Streets, held throughout Atascadero's Downtown on Saturday evening.

Organizers say 2020 would have marked the 28th Annual Hot El Camino Cruise Nite. With approximately 400 classic cars cruising up and down El Camino Real on Friday evening. This would have also been the 31st Annual Mid State Cruizers Car Show at Atascadero Lake Park, and the 5th Annual Dancing in the Streets, held throughout Downtown Atascadero.
