An Avila Beach man and his dog are traveling across 25 states in an Airstream trailer to raise money for a Central Coast non-profit.

Joe O'Connor is raising money for the non-profit CASA, which helps abused and neglected children.

KSBY first brought you their story back in July, when O'Connor and his 2-year-old Aussie-doodle, Wally's trek began. Now, O'Connor says him and Wally are more than halfway, making it through 14 states and are in Maine as of Monday morning.

O'Connor is an advocate and volunteer for the kids they are raising money for. So far, the two have raised more than $8,000.

"It's really rewarding for me to be helpful and advocating for them but also just helping them have a little bit of a normal life. And maybe one day when they go forward in their lives...They'll do that for somebody else." O'Connor told KSBY News.

You can follow the pair's travels on both Facebook and Instagram at "Wally Travels for Kids".
