A Black Lives Matter solidarity bike ride traveled through downtown San Luis Obispo on Wednesday evening.

The ride was organized by community members; they say the reason for the ride was to allow the diverse cycling community to express their support for Black Lives Matter.

"I think it's really important for individuals within the community to stand together," said Immanuel Williams, who attended the ride. "You know, this is a troubling time in our society, and so it's nice for individuals to at least have common belief and stand in solidarity."

The ride started at Mitchell Park -- and the group rode for a total of 8.46 miles in honor of George Floyd.
