The Los Padres Council, Boy Scouts of America is donating face shields to healthcare workers at the Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
The Boy Scouts of America challenged all Boy Scout Councils to make face shields as a part of their mission to do good.
Local scouts created 100 face shields from Pack 93 and Troop 87 to donate to the hospital.
Carlos Cortez, scout executive and council CEO, said local scouts are taking action to support the community.
"Part of being a scout is doing a good deed daily and doing community service, so they just do this for being a part of the scouts," said Cortez.
Cortez said scouts are continuing to make more face shields to donate in the future.
