The Boys & Girls Club in Santa Maria opened its doors this week.

The club has had a smooth opening, limiting their programs to only 45 kids a week.

The organization says the health and safety committee worked on a reopening plan after being approved by the board of directors, CDC and local health officials.

The club says the kids are put into groups of nine and wear masks while social distancing.

The cost per child for each week is $50 and parents have to sign a waiver.

The Boys & Girls Club is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"A lot of our kids really missed us. We've been closed for a few months and we miss them as well, so the opportunity to re-engage with our staff members and with their fellow club members has been really heartwarming," said Jeremy Demming with the Boys & Girls Club.

Currently, only the Santa Maria location is open, but the clubs in Paso Robles and Evans Park are reportedly planning to reopen in a few weeks.
