Cal Poly San Luis Obispo announced Thursday that Spring Break would be extended an additional week and Open House activities are canceled.

In a video statement sent to campus, President Jeffrey D. Armstrong said Spring Quarter would resume on April 6.

Faculty will report back on March 30 to prepare to potentially transition to online courses.

Armstrong said students would be informed of any other Spring Quarter changes by March 25.

Open House, which was scheduled to take place April 16-18, has been canceled, along with associated activities including Poly Cultural Weekend, Rodeo, and Tractor Pull.

Campus tours for prospective students have also been canceled through the end of Spring Quarter.

All Cal Poly athletic events will be fan-less.

Effective immediately, the Big West Conference has canceled all sports.

This includes the Cal Poly Baseball series against Oklahoma that was set to go from Thursday, March 12 through Sunday, March 15.

This article has been edited to reflect that the transition to online courses for Spring Quarter is only a possibility at this time. A final decision on whether classes will be held virtually has not yet been made.
