CAL POLY, Calif. — Cal Poly began its second annual CP Thrift Resale Fair during move-in Saturday.

The student-run effort collects unwanted items from students who are moving out and stores them to sell in the following school year.

Incoming students can purchase basic household necessities at a low price.

CP Thrift is a program aimed at reducing waste generated on campus.

"Students and parents are not obligated to pay but we've seen generous donations from students and parents. The feedback that we've gotten from the community is very supportive and helpful," explained Darin Son, organizer of the event.

The next CP Thrift Resale Fair will take place on Monday and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Poly Canyon Village on Vista Caballo street, between the Huasna building (No. 171H) and Inyo building (171I).
