Cal Poly is holding its fourth annual Dance Marathon to raise funds for a local children's hospital until midnight, Sunday.

More than 650 students started dancing at 12 p.m. Saturday and will continue to show off their best moves for 12 hours.

The student-run organization says it hopes to raise $70,000 for research, equipment and uncompensated care at the Cottage Children's Medical Center in Santa Barbara.

Over the past three years, the dance marathon has raised more than $150,000 for the children's medical center.

"What we're doing here is we're dancing all day for the kids that are still in the hospital and we're doing it in honor of them because their life is something to celebrate and each miracle they get is something to celebrate as well," said Hannah Randolph, Executive Director of Cal Poly Dance Marathon.

Throughout the dance marathon, previous recipients of the fundraiser shared their story of medical challenges, some even sang a song.

You can still donate to the fundraiser through the Venmo app at @calpolydm.
