Caltrans is continuing its work on State Route 192 to fix the damage done during the Montecito debris flow in January 2018.

Construction will continue on both the Montecito Creek Bridge and Toro Creek Bridge.

Work on the Montecito Creek Bridge will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Drivers can expect to see road closures at the intersection of Para Grande Rd. and State Route 192 during these times. Crews are completing underground drainage and creek restoration projects.

The bridge is expected to re-open to traffic sometime in mid-December.

The Toro Creek Bridge is open to one-way traffic as construction continues to happen from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

This bridge is also expected to re-open in mid-December.

In the meantime, drivers are encouraged to use Highway 101 as an alternate route. State Route 192 remains closed between Sycamore Canyon Rd. and Hot Springs Rd.

Caltrans has, however, re-opened several bridges in the area, including:

· San Ysidro Creek Bridge

· Romero Canyon Creek Bridge

· Toro Creek Bridge

· Toro Canyon Creek Bridge

· Arroyo Paredon Creek Bridge

The project to rebuild the bridges cost $20 million.
