A woman in Arroyo Grande who started a victory rock garden says there are now hundreds of rocks outside of her home.
Peggy Coon says she was inspired to start the victory rock garden by her parents who created their own after World War II.
When the pandemic started lock-downs in March, Coon started the garden outside of her home on the 500 block of Ide Street in Arroyo Grande.
Coon's intentions were to to cheer up her neighbors with colorfully painted rocks to display positive messages.
"People have come from some far distances, for instance someone brought an antique rock from San Miguel and told us the whole story behind the antique rock that her grandfather had given her," said Coon.
Coon says another community member dropped off a rock that read ... "it's a boy!" ... announcing the birth of her son.
Coon says the garden has grown to about three-hundred rocks, and hopes more people from all over will stop by to contribute to the garden.
