Santa Barbara County Sheriff's detectives arrested a Goleta man Wednesday on suspicion of possessing child pornography.
Sheriff's officials say their investigation into Jose Alvarez-Fuentes, 26, began on May 5, when detectives received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Program that child pornography had been uploaded by a user on social media.
Investigators say that social media account was linked to Alvarez-Fuentes.
While serving a search warrant in the 200 block of Helena in Santa Barbara, sheriff's officials say Alvarez-Fuentes was found to be in possession of child pornography.
He was booked at Santa Barbara County Jail and released without bail.
