Santa Barbara City Firefighters respond to chimney fire Wednesday night.
Firefighters responded to the fire at around 7:27 p.m. On the 3700 block of Lincolnwood Drive.
Fire officials say the homeowner had a fire in their fire place and was alerted by a passing motorist who witnessed flames on the exterior of the chimney.
The homeowner then called 911 and used a garden hose from their second story balcony prior to the arrival of the Fire Department. Firefighters accessed the attic space and extinguished the remaining fire using a water extinguisher.
Firefighters say there were no injuries reported and the cause is under investigation.
Estimated damage to the property is not available at this time.
