California Highway Patrol conducted a saturation patrol on Highway 246 near Tularosa Monday to increase public awareness and reduce speed violations in the area.
CHP said within an hour, they cited about 15 cars for several different things, but most of them were because of speeding.
So far, CHP has conducted saturation patrols on Highway 101, State Route 154, and State Route 246. They are encouraging Central Coast residents to tell them where they would like to see another saturation patrol next by commenting on their Facebook page.
CHP also wants to remind people to slow down, wear a seatbelt and keep your eye on the road to keep you and everyone around you safe on the road.
