The California Highway Patrol is stepping up patrols at a Shandon intersection following several complaints.
Officers say people have reported drivers are ignoring a four-way stop at the intersection of Center and 1st streets, which is located near schools.
"In just a couple of days, our officers have issued a handful of citations for stop sign and cell phone violations," CHP's Templeton area office said in a Facebook post.
Officers hope the increased patrols and awareness lead to more drivers paying attention.
"Be aware and be safe… and do not drive distracted," the post said.
