Goleta, Lompoc and Santa Maria began hosting community meetings for housing assessments Wednesday night.
At the meetings, community members work with city leaders to help assess affordable housing and community development needs.
About a dozen people showed up to the meeting in Santa Maria Wednesday.
This is the first meeting of four that will run through Nov. 22.
Thursday's meeting in Lompoc and Goleta will focus on small business and social services.
"We encourage public participation not only at this meeting but throughout the year so if someone's not able to attend the meeting then we still encourage them to reach out to us and let us know what is working what isn't working and how we can improve," says Santa Barbara Community Programs Manager Rosie Rojo.
The city of Santa Barbara will be hosting their meeting on Friday.
- Nov. 21, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Anderson Recreation Center in Lompoc
- Nov. 21, 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Goleta City Council
- Nov. 22, 10 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. Santa Barbara Veteran's Memorial Building
