The City of San Luis Obispo has named a new Deputy Fire Chief.
Thursday, August 8 is Michael Alforque's first day on the job with the San Luis Obispo City Fire Department.
Alforque has 25 years of experience in fire service, most recently as a Battalion Chief for the City of Fresno Fire Department. He's also a Safety Officer in the California Interagency Incident Management Team 4 and a state fire instructor.
The city says he will be active in helping the department complete a new training plan and strategic plan.
"It's an honor and privilege to be a member of the San Luis Obispo Fire Department," Alforque said in a press release. "With City Administration, Chief Aggson, and all members of SLO Fire, I want to continue to build internal and external relationships and provide our community WOW service."
