City of San Luis Obispo seeking community feedback in "Roll & Stroll" public outreach meetings

The City of San Luis Obispo is inviting community members to offer feedback during several "Roll & Stroll" public outreach meetings about walking and biking in the city.

Since early 2091, the city has been creating a draft for an Active Transportation Plan (ATP), its first combined bicycle and pedestrian transportation plan.

City staff members are holding several events for the public throughout the next two weeks to learn more about barriers to biking and walking around the city, as well as the types of transportation infrastructure and policies that would help increase biking and walking in the community.

The following events are scheduled for community feedback:

Sunday, October 13
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lincoln Market & Deli (496 Broad St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405)

Thursday, October 17
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cal Poly University Union (S Poly View Dr, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405)

Saturday, October 19
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nautical Bean (11560 Los Osos Valley Rd, #150, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405)

Sunday, October 20
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Vons (3900 Broad St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401)

Thursday, October 24
4 to 7 p.m. at the San Luis Obispo Library (995 Palm St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93403)

Thursday, October 24
6 to 9 p.m. at the Downtown Farmers' Market (Higuera St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401)

Members of the San Luis Obispo community are encouraged to provide input on topics ranging from protected bicycle lanes, desired locations for pedestrian crossing improvements and routes to prioritize first for biking and walking improvements.

After meeting with the public, city staff members will review all feedback and create a draft plan to present to advisory bodies in early 2020 with Council review planned for late spring of 2020.
