Community members in Santa Maria are being asked to participate in the city's 'Chalk Your Walk' event this weekend.
The event is being organized be The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and the Mayor's Task Force on Youth Safety.
Begining Friday, April 17th through Sunday, April 19th, residents are encouraged to use chalk to draw or write a positive message on their sidewalk to uplift the community. After finishing their creation, participants can take a photograph and share it via social media using the hashtag #chalkyourwalksantamaria.
City officials are advising the community to please follow social distancing recommendations when participating in the activity.
