Community members pored over more than 30,000 books for the 41st annual book sale for the San Luis Obispo Library.

The event took place at the Veterans Memorial Building on Grand Ave. in San Luis Obispo.

All the items at the event are donated by community members year-round.

Library staff members categorize and curate all the donations every week, so that only the best quality and the best editions of the books are sold.

"One of the nice things is that we have such a broad variety of books donated that every person that comes in here will find something of interest to them. They will not leave disappointed," said Irene Ray, the treasurer for Friends of the Library Board of Directors.

All the funds from the book sale benefit the San Luis Obispo Public Library.

There were also thousands of CD's, films, antique books and children's books sold at the event.
