Community members host teach-in and vigil for those detained by ICE

Some community members in San Luis Obispo are pushing to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement or ICE.

The Central Coast Organization on Racial Injustice and Project Cariño of the Central Coast organized a teach-in and vigil at Mitchell Park Sunday afternoon.

Attendees of the event say they're against the detainment of migrant children and families on the US and Mexico border. saying the separation of migrant families is "inhumane."

Attendees also had the opportunity to donate school supplies and other necessities to children of local farm workers.
