A contractor hit a Spectrum fiber line on Madonna Rd. near the Madonna Inn on Monday, disrupting cable and internet service to customers in the area.
It happened shortly before 10 a.m.
Charter Spectrum crews are on scene, working to repair the line.
There is no estimated time for the repairs to be complete.
Charter Communications issued the following statement: “Damage to our fiber-optic network, caused by a construction crew, is impacting service for Spectrum customers in the San Luis Obispo area. Our engineering team is working to repair the damage and restore service as quickly as possible.”
It's unknown how many customers are affected by the outage at this time, but KSBY is among the businesses affected.
