The San Luis Obispo County Department of Public Works announced it will start repairing a storm damage site on Prefumo Canyon Road near milepost 4.9 in San Luis Obispo.
According to a news release from the department, crews will conduct repairs starting September 8 from Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Officials said most of the work will be finished by the end of the month, with some intermittent work continuing through October 20.
Crews said the downhill slope of the road will be repaired with the installation of rock slope protection and reconstruction of the embankment.
Public works officials said they will place construction signs ahead of the work to advise travelers.
Traffic will be reduced to one-way controls with delays that may last up to 15 minutes, according to the release.
The project is funded by San Luis Obispo County Road Maintenance funds and will be performed by David Crye General Engineering Contractor, Inc. of Morro Bay.
