The California DMV is extending driver license permits with an expiration date through November 30.
The goal is to give student drivers more time to prepare for and schedule their behind-the-wheel drive test during the pandemic.
Eligible permits are extended six months or to a date 24 months from the date of application, whichever is earlier.
Commercial learner's permits expiring between March and September have also been extended through September 30.
Law enforcement personnel are aware of the extensions.
