Locals heading to the Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market can celebrate Halloween today starting at 5 p.m.
The spooky market will be filled with activities such as a costume contest and trick-or-treating at some businesses in the area.
The night will also include a bounce house at Osos St., a New Orleans style jazz band at Morro St., a Scaryo-kee contest at Chorro St., a swingin’ duo covering classic tunes at Broad St., and a barbershop quartet at Nipomo St.
The costume contest will start at 6:30 p.m. and will include prizes for the winners. Contestants will have the chance to sign up starting at 5 p.m. at the Union Bank parking lot at 995 Higuera St. Sponsored by Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab, the contest will be judged by a representative from the ice cream shop, Downtown SLO Board of Directors and City Council.
Trick-or-treaters will also have the chance to grab a treat bag at the parking lot before they get going. Here’s a look at the businesses that will be participating:
