ECHO Homeless shelter is asking for people to sign up to volunteer.

They are looking for people who are healthy and under the age of 65.

Organizers say they are particularly in need of volunteers to work overnight.

They say the need for volunteers and donations is critically urgent as the 65 and over age group makes up 40% of their volunteers.

"We are heading into some trying times, so we are hoping the community will step up as they usually do," says ECHO CEO Wendy Lewis, "We will be needing monetary donations, cleaning supplies, gloves, masks, things that we are having a hard time getting our hands on."

Lewis says they need about 300 volunteers a month. Right now they have just over half of that quota filled.
