Early Warning System Siren Growl Tests are set to take place this week in a portion of San Luis Obispo County.
The more than 100 sirens located between Cayucos and the Nipomo Mesa in the Diablo Canyon Emergency Planning Zone will each be tested at a low volume for a few seconds Tuesday and Wednesday.
The sirens can be used during local emergencies like a tsunami.
The tests help emergency officials make sure each siren is working properly.
