If you notice smoke in the Morro Bay area Wednesday, don't be alarmed.
Morro Bay fire officials say crews will be burning piles of dead tree trimmings at the marina peninsula between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The purpose for the controlled burning is to create defensible space for homes along Balboa and Ridgeway streets.
