Firefighters from Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties gathered in Lompoc for earthquake response training Wednesday.
Crews practiced search and rescue operations, rope rescue operations, entering and securing buildings, and other skills.
"It's invaluable for these firefighters. I mean, many of them are very young in their careers and they'll carry the lessons forward for many years to come. The more senior members are here to give the lessons learned over their career to help these younger members," said John Cecena, Allan Hancock College Fire Training Captain.
The training exercise was held at Allan Hancock College's Public Safety Training Complex.
