Community members gathered at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance (GALA) Pride and Diversity Center in San Luis Obispo to celebrate pride month.
In previous years, the organization would host its annual "Pride in the Plaza" event, but organizers decided to host a drive-in event instead to keep community members safe during the pandemic.
Attendees could park by the center, take photos on the building's newly painted steps, and check out the organization's brand-new logo.
The executive director of GALA said they are also celebrating the supreme court ruling that bans discrimination against LGBTQ+ people in the workplace.
"We thought we'd give people a safe opportunity to come out and spend a few minutes with us today, with masks, socially distanced and get a little bit of that boost," said Michelle Call, executive director of GALA.
The GALA Pride and Diversity Center seeks to support and empower people of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions.
