The Goleta City Council is looking at new resolutions after the death of George Floyd, according to a press release.
At 1 p.m. on June 8, the Council said they will be holding a virtual special meeting to consider a resolution that condemns police brutality and declares racism a public health emergency.
The agenda of the meeting said this is a commitment to stand in solidarity with the residents of the community and the Black Lives Matter movement.
Community members can participate in the meeting and can watch it live on their website. Any comments can be emailed to by cityclerkgroup@cityofgoleta.org, but must be less than three minutes.
