A group of about 20 people gathered at Blast 825 Brewery in Orcutt to honor those lost and injured in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Retired Santa Maria firefighter Dennis Szczepanski said this has become an annual tradition for the group.

The Brewery even continued the tradition of the previous owner and have accommodated the group to honor the fallen.

Szczepanski said he went to work at a station during 9/11 and the event has been close to him ever since.

"We all consider ourselves brother and sister in the fire service and losing so many in one day was just unfathomable and we want to keep them in our thoughts,” Szczepanski said. “As everyone else said, the day after it happened, we'll never forget."
