The Grover Beach City Council voted Monday night to remove newly-installed asphalt berms on the Newport Avenue project and instead, paint the bike lane green.
Residents got to weigh in on the project.
Some people were worried about the safety of drivers, bicyclists, and even pedestrians because of the new berms, calling them a tripping hazard.
After residents showed up to the last two council meetings to voice their concerns, council members made the decision to remove the berms, move the bike lane away from the sidewalk and paint it green.
City council members say this won't increase construction costs.
