A man who was prowling in a Grover Beach neighborhood was arrested by police early Thursday morning.

According to a Facebook post on the Grover Beach Police Department’s page, officers responded to a report that came in around 2:50 a.m. about a prowler on Solana Ct. Police say officers arrived on scene and the man fled the area.
Authorities later caught up to the man and arrested him.

The prowler was identified as 42-year-old Jamie Sills. Booking logs show that he was booked on resisting arrest, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was no longer in custody, according to the San Luis Obispo County jail website.

Police attached surveillance video of Sills on their Facebook page that was captured on a Ring home device. Sills can be seen trying to enter the residence in the clip and loitering outside the front door.

Authorities want to remind residents about how important it is to lock all of your doors at night and to invest in home security devices or motion lights to prevent crime from happening in your neighborhood.
