Grover Beach residents celebrate the 53rd annual County Holiday Parade despite rain

GROVER BEACH, Calif. — Residents made their way to the streets of Grover Beach Saturday morning to kick off the holiday spirit with the 53rd County Holiday Parade.

The parade began at 16th Street, traveled west down West Grand Avenue to 9th Street, and finished at the Ramona Garden Park Center, 993 Ramona Avenue.

Brittany Wicksterom has attended the parade for four years in a row and says the rain wasn't going to stop her from bringing her daughter along.

"We're happy that they still had the parade going and rain didn't affect it even with the drizzles" said Wicksterom.

The event was free of charge but did give participants an option of donating an unwrapped toy to be donated to local charities.

Although the parade ran from 10 a.m. through 11 a.m. without any issues, the city of Grover Beach was forced to cancel Santa's Workshop Fine Arts & Craft Fair and the holiday tree lighting.
