Students at Kermit Mckenzie Intermediate School in Guadalupe are showing off a community art project they have been working on for the past two and a half months.

The students painted a mural of a bobcat jumping onto the Oso Flaco bridge north of Guadalupe.

The owner of the Guadalupe hardware company sponsored the art project, providing the metal canvas, paints and brushes.

"After we got used to each other and gained that mutual respect it went awesome, they even stayed a couple hours after school to help me paint on their own time," says Daniele Eckenrod, student artist.

The mural was first presented to the city council, who then unanimously approved it.
