A new Facebook group and website called HelpSLO is connecting community members in need to volunteers and services around San Luis Obispo County.
Community members can make a post on the group asking for food, medications, diapers and other essential items.
Others on the page are allowed to respond to the messages in need and say if they can help supply those items.
The creator of HelpSLO says there are more than 5,000 members in the group, and it continues to grow.
"I think that one thing that's special about this group is it's giving everybody a sense of a safety, to know that there's this place where if I'm scared and am in need I can say so and my community members are gonna answer me," says creator of HelpSLO, Leah Wood.
Wood goes on to say that she hope this group will continue, even after the pandemic subsides.
