A Caltrans construction project is set to take place along Highway 1 from Torre Canyon Bridge in Big Sur to just south of Carpenter Street in Carmel.
The project is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 16.
The roadwork will include pavement rehab on existing roadways and guardrail replacements.
Motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes and electronic signs will be activated to alert the public of the roadwork.
The roadwork and closure details are as follows:
Torre Canyon Bridge to Coast Road near Andrew Molera State Park:
- Sundays through Mondays: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next morning)
- Mondays through Thursdays: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next morning)
- Fridays: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Coast Road to Carmel Valley Road:
- Sundays through Mondays: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next morning)
- Mondays through Thursdays: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next morning)
- Fridays: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 12 midnight to 6 a.m. (next morning)
Carmel Valley Road to Carpenter Street:
- Sundays through Fridays: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next morning)
Slab replacement work:
- Mondays through Thursdays: 3 p.m. to 6 a.m. (next morning)
