San Luis Obispo County Sheriff officials announced Friday that in-person jail visits are being temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 concerns.
Sheriff officials say the health and safety of the inmates at the jail are their top priority.
Deputies say in-person inmate visitation will be temporarily suspended until further notice. The jail is still providing video visitation for inmates and their families.
The Sheriff's Office wants to ensure the system is easy to access so they partnered with Homewav to help provide the service.

Official in-person visits between inmates and attorneys or members of law enforcement will still be available by using glass-partitioned rooms.
