Local bakeries and restaurants are busy as thousands of tasty desserts are prepared for Thanksgiving meals.

In Santa Maria, Jovi's Delights has been working since last week to make dozens of pies ordered for the holiday.

The coffee shop and bakery on E. Main Street says it makes its desserts from scratch, offering an assortment of pies and even mini pies.

While orders are no longer being accepted, Jovi's says it does still have some pre-made desserts available.

In San Luis Obispo, Madonna Inn's bakery has been busy baking up to 200 pre-ordered pies. The bakery on Wednesday said it did not have anymore of the tasty treats available for purchase.

And in Cambria, Linn's Restaurant says it is busy making 1,000 fresh-baked pies for Thanksgiving.

That number does not include frozen or unbaked pies that have already gone out for the week to grocery stores or other locations across the country.
