A Santa Barbara City Fire Wildland Fire specialist helped save a 10-week-old kitten from the Glass Fire burning in Sonoma County.
The Santa Barbara City Fire Department says Amber Anderson was conducting damage assessment when she heard faint meows coming from underneath a destroyed truck.
The kitten, which was found in the rubble, is believed to have survived for up to a week before being located by Anderson on Tuesday.
The kitten was turned over to Napa Animal Control and is said to be doing “very well.”
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department currently has 13 fire personnel assigned to various fires or incidents throughout the state.
