Firefighters with the Paso Robles Fire Department received a big donation Tuesday from a local food distributor.
Vitco Food Services reached out to the San Luis Obispo County Fire Chief Association last Friday and the Paso Robles Fire Department helped arrange a food delivery.
Battalion Chief Scott Hallett says his crew has expressed how much they appreciate the donation.
He also says it helps the firefighters limit how much they have to visit the grocery store during the coronavirus pandemic.
"I just think, you know, this is a unique time for all of us, locally in our community, statewide and in the nation, and we're seeing a lot of businesses and people really step up to support the community and support those in need," Hallett said.
He says Vitco Food Services is also planning to deliver food to the Foodbank later this week.
They're also supporting local schools with food donations.
