Wednesday marked the release of the eighth episode in the “Your Own Backyard” podcast that has brought renewed public interest to the Kristin Smart disappearance investigation.

In the latest episode titled “The 16-Hour Gap,” podcaster Chris Lambert questions why there is no information on what Paul Flores was doing between 2 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 25, 1996 shortly after the Cal Poly freshman was last seen.

Listeners also learn about a foreign exchange student who says he saw a man and woman involved in a physical fight at one of the dorms that night.

Flores was one of the last people known to have seen Smart before her disappearance and remains a person-of-interest in the case.

Wednesday, Lambert told KBSY News he has no plans at this time to release additional episodes, but added he also didn’t originally plan on releasing episode eight.

He says he has spent the entire year researching and keeping in touch with the sheriff’s office and Smart family.

“Your Own Backyard” episodes have been downloaded more than 5 million times since the first episode’s release last fall.
