Lompoc Police responded to reports of a man in possession of a firearm Tuesday afternoon.
The incident was reported at around 4:19 p.m. in the area of the 600 N. Third/Fourth Alley.
Responding officers found the suspect driving a stolen vehicle, and detectives later identified him as 37-year-old Jerald Tucker.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, however Tucker initially failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit followed until Tucker pulled over.
Police say Tucker exited the vehicle and was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. Further investigation revealed that the firearm was reported stolen.
Police say Tucker is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms. Tucker was booked on multiple charges.
