The Lucia Mar Unified School District has extended the time schools in the district will be close due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
District officials Wednesday morning announced closures will now extend through spring break, with the plan to have classes tentatively resume on Monday, April 20.
“The Board of Education and District Leadership are watching the developing situation with COVID-19, and we are prepared to meet weekly, if necessary, to analyze information and adjust course and calendar as deemed necessary. This decision was not taken lightly-the Board of Education and District Leadership fully understand the gravity of this decision, and the burden it places on our families,” according to a press release.
The district adds that it plans to send out information Thursday to students regarding additional online/distance learning opportunities.
Food deliveries are still taking place.
