Mama Ganache Artisan Chocolates in San Luis Obispo was forced to let employees go temporarily as the Coronavirus pandemic spurred shelter-at-home orders across the state.

The business remains open, however. It makes and sells hand-crafted and ethically sourced chocolates. All of the chocolate is made from single source beans grown around the world.

The shop is currently run just by owner Ben Taylor who says he is doing what he can to serve customers while keeping his employees safe.

"I'm trying to do what is best for my employees. At the same time, we have to do what is best for the business because if we are not here after all of this is finished, then we won't have a job," Taylor said. "So I'm here every day. If I need to be here late, I'll be here late. If I need to come in early, I'll do that too."

Taylor said his goal is to eventually bring back his employees. He said he is working to meet his base costs to keep the business afloat but sales have gone down significantly.

Mama Ganache is offering in-store and curb-side pickup as well as free delivery in town for all online orders.

Taylor said they will have holiday treats available for Easter, including chocolate bunnies and creme eggs.

They also make in-house milkshakes. Vegan options are available.
