Mission San Luis Obispo De Tolosa held it's first in-person mass Sunday morning after three months of lock down.

Parishioners were allowed to attend mass while wearing face coverings and practicing proper social distancing.

A video was posted online by Fr. Kelly Vandehey, Pastor of Old Mission Parish, informing the community on the mission's reopening plans.

The Irwin family, who attended mass for the first time on Sunday since the shelter-at home order went into place, said attending mass is what they missed the most during the lock down.

"You come to the table, we see other parishioners here and it's like being home. It's a place of serenity for us, and prayer and comfort. It's a very good community," said Lisa Irwin.

The mission was offering online massesdaily during the shelter-at-home order. The Irwin family says the virtual masses are what really helped them through the lock down.
