The Mountainbrook Church in San Luis Obispo sent a letter to congregants Saturday morning with information regarding former Lead Pastor Thom O'Leary's alleged misconduct.

According to a letter from the Mountainbrook Church Board of Directors, O'Leary reportedly touched three female staff members and another woman inappropriately, privately texted women for an extended period of time to a point where it made them feel uncomfortable, drank excessively and used the church's credit card for what appeared to be personal expenses.

The letter also reads that the church hired a team of men and women pastors from Vineyard USA to review the external investigation and to meet with the individuals involved in the alleged incidents.

The team came to the same conclusion that the resignation of Thom O'Leary and his wife, Executive Pastor Sherri O'Leary, was necessary, according to the letter.

The church's board of directors says they "are truly heartbroken, deeply saddened, and concerned over the trauma, hurt and pain that has been caused to these women."

The board of directors says they brought in professional counselors to help staff members through counseling.
