The Oceano Community Services District is expected to consider reducing the number of its monthly board meetings at its next meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

General Manager Will Clemens suggested the board meet once a month instead of twice.

He says two meetings a month aren't necessary, and this change could save the Community Services District about $27,000 a year.

"A lot of our items are routine in nature, are repetitive, so rather than preparing for a meeting every two weeks, as staff this will allow us to do it monthly," Clemens said.

He says the money saved could go toward fire services.

The Oceano CSD Board of Directors meets starting at 6 p.m. at 1655 Front Street in Oceano.
